Selecting a Colour
Your kitchen splashbacks are one of the most visible features of your kitchen and can pull the whole look together. To avoid splashback regret, it’s important that you choose a colour which looks right in your space. If you’re not sure where to go with your splashback colour scheme, we’re here to share some of our top tips to make your decision a little easier!
Stunning neutrals The neutral kitchen continues to be the most popular colour scheme and this can be carried through to your splashbacks. Sophisticated, timeless and elegant – neutral splashbacks can complement the tones of the kitchen without being too overbearing.
Pop of colour if you’ve adopted a bright colour scheme for your whole kitchen design, or you want to add some drama to an otherwise neutral space, your splashbacks are an easy way to make a statement with colour.
Colour - Whether a stunning neutral or a pop of colour we have a range of coloured glass samples available in our showroom. For other colour ideas have a look at the Resene colour chart or Dulux colour chart . If you have a favorite colour that is not standard we can colour match.
Size of the space When it comes to the colour of your splashbacks, you do need to consider the size of the space. For example, even if you love the drama of a darker colour, this often isn’t the best choice in a small space as they’ll absorb the light. Similarly, a white splashback in a large space can look a bit clinical if the rest of the kitchen is also very neutral. Always think about the size of the space you’re working with as this will inform colour choice.
Room Lighting. the lighting in the room play a big part in colour selection. A dark splashback in a dark room may close in the space. A lighter colour or mirror will open up a smaller space.
